Go Hog Wild Day© - Today is also National Pig Day - a day to recognize the pig as one of man's most intelligent and useful domesticated animals. The day was started by two sisters (Ellen Stanley and Mary Rave) who grew up loving
pigs.
"The Cat in the Hat" Day - This is the birth anniversary of Theodor Seuss Geisel (1904-1991), creator of rhyming books for children. More than 200 million copies of his works have been sold, and in more than 20 different languages. Seuss received the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 "for his contribution over nearly half a century to the education and enjoyment of... children and their parents."
